Welcome to my blog, where you will find entries on everything from writing, poems, politics, photography, my pepsi addiction, my dogs, my family, good books, and twizzlers--everything from the serious to the inane. I will caution that I am very liberal and more than a bit of a cynic. I love to receive comments of all kinds as they help to give me a good dose of reality now and then as I do tend to blather on and on just because I can, so I beg you to jump in, and let me know when I'm blathering. It will be good for me and might keep me from being so long winded. As always, there will be more later . . . Peace.

Thank you so much, Maureen. Penia Speaks to Eros really did just unfold onto the screen with very little revision. That just happens sometimes. I think, no know, that it was waiting to come out. I'm not so hapy with Pink-Haired Gurl, though. It's very different from where I started. Corey read it and said that it was really "mean" (the frst version). He couldn't put his finger on it, so I ended up changing the whole approach to something more sympathetic, and now I think that it's just watered down. My first one had bite. I called her a Pink-Haired Slut, and it was cutting, but that was what I was going for: you know shocking for shock value?

Oh well . . . I should be more true to myself. I am very happy with the first one, though.

Hi Lita,
The words of of Penia speaks to Eros ar hauntingly beautiful. They resonate from somewhere deep within you and needed to come out.
Pink Haired Girl opens a Pandora's box.We have been there, done that, maybe not to the extreme of tatooing our bodies(I have a couple of piercings which were done as an adult, in addition to my ears that were done in my early teens)as young women do now but by and large, none of what they are doing now is new, although they think they are radical. Been there, done that girls and you are about 30 years too late for it to be shocking!
Best wishes

Thanks. It hasn't happened like that for me in quite a while, where I just sat down, and a poem came out, let alone two poems. I'm hoping that it's the beginning of a streak, but if it's not, that's okay too.

It's amazing how the events around us tend to permeate our skin, to dig deep down into our souls, only to come out again in prose.

It makes you think about when the great philosophers walked the earth and ingested the times around them, then to have been able to let all that surface again in order to impart their wisdom upon us.

Your words were beautiful. I am very glad that I happened upon your little world.
