And The Band Played On
Thank you Memphis Mafia of Really . . . Really . . . Seriously (http://memphismafia.wordpress.com/2009/05/10/just-had-to-share-this/#comment-336) for posting this wonderful video of the George Harrison tribute.
I am blatantly stealing your vid (or rather, the idea to post the vid) as I cannot believe that I did not include this song in my top 100 list as I have always loved “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.”
If you are a Beatles fan, more specifically a George Harrison fan, you’ll love this. Just try to forget about the whole losing the wife/taking the wife history between Clapton and Harrison. It’s in the distant past.
Performing on the video: Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Ravi & Anoushka Shankar, the cast of Monty Python and other artists. Top that collection of talent. Not a chance in the world.
Quick dip into the past. More later. Peace.
Hi Lita,
Fabulous memories!
Maureen 🙂
Too right!
This was great to watch. I love music, must have every day. Sometimes very very loud. That usually means dancing all over the kitchen and dining room to my only audience, the cat. I don’t know this one, thanks for bringing it. I wish they could have stayed longer, George and Bob.
Glad that I could introduce to one of the classics. And this is such a great tribute rendition. When you get a chance, listen to the original.
I love that song, too. Strangely, the week that George Harrison died I was unable to listen to anything except “All Things Must Pass Away.” I was stunned when I heard he had died.
Thanks for this!
That reminds me of the time I was with my former husband. He popped in his favorite Bob Marley tape, and it just stopped working. Later that day they announced that Bob Marley had died.
This is such a great video. I’m just happy that someone else out there is that excited about it too!
Absolutely, listened to it on your space. Then listened to it after I had posted it, listened to it this morning. Still dumbfounded that I did not include this song on my list. Oh well.
