Laugh So You Don’t Cry
The mood around the house today was a mixed bag, so I thought that I would give you my take on the sour and snarky, the unusually kinetic, the skillful gamer, and the wiley conniver. I’ll leave it to you to determine identities.

Saturday Day (a la Dr. Seuss)
There was nowhere to go and nothing to do
So we all sat around and thought ‘what to do?’
No movies, no swimming, no skimboards or sails . . .
No popcorn, no ice cream, no whiskey or ale
We all went our ways, we went to our rooms
And the only sound sounding was a loud ha-la-roos
Twas the sound of dogs snoring, the sound of their snooze
A right good idea the four of us thought
So we locked all the doors and dropped on our cots
No more snarky moods, no more sassy words
Soft sounds of sighing was all that was heard.
Adieu from the sleeping, goodbye from we four
No more time for rhyming, just ta ta til more.
Peace.
I wish I knew your crew a bit better, this was very fun.
It’s a nuthouse around here. I like doing my Seuss bit.
I love the Seuss approach! Good call for sure. I could definitely hear it being said by a talking fish, dog, lorax, etc.
Hi Lita,
Afternoons like the one you describe can be lovely. Everyone concentrating on their own thing and some precious time to do as you like!
Take care
Maureen
I don’t know why, but it just hit me that the way the four of us were acting was so much like the characters that I chose. It was fun.
