“The Gentleman is Wrong . . . The Gentleman Will Sit.” ~ Congressman Athony Weiner (D-NY)

(Congressman Anthony Weiner (D-NY) became furious at his GOP colleagues during a debate over a 9/11 victims compensation bill. The bill would have provided up to $7.4 billion in aid to people sickened by World Trade Center dust.)

This is how politics should be, people: full of fire and passion and a belief in what is right. Yes, I am wearing my rose-colored glasses again, but my god, exactly when and where did we agree to such depraved complacency in the running of our government? Why do we not say and do more when the most basic bills get waylaid by people who want nothing more than to prove Obama wrong? This has nothing to do with Obama, or parties, or even politics. This has to do with doing what is right, what is morally right. Anything else is repugnant.
