“There is an universal tendency among mankind to conceive all beings like themselves, and to transfer to every object, those qualities, with which they are familiarly acquainted, and of which they are intimately conscious. We find human faces in the moon, armies in the clouds; and by a natural propensity, if not corrected by experience and reflection, ascribe malice or good-will to every thing.” ~ David Hume

From my tumblr in the wee hours of the morning:

Okay, this is a very sweet picture, but the warped side of me, the part that allots human traits to anything and everything, just had this imagined conversation within the mind of the wolf that looks so distressed:

“Oh. She’s snuggling. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? Did she find out about the tree marking? No, no . . . she was asleep. Couldn’t possibly . . . Then what? Maybe she loves me. Is that what this is? But I’m not ready for a commitment, don’t even have my own pack. Too much pressure. What to do . . . what to do . . .

It’s after 3 a.m. My mind is seriously warped.
