I came across an interesting reference to the Angel of the North on The Daily Mail’s site and decided to dig a big deeper. What I found was simply amazing. What a beautiful work of art.
Called the Angel of the North, the sculpture was designed by artist Antony Gormley. Completed in 1998, the sculpture, which is located in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, England, is made of steel and measures 66 feet high and 177 feet across, similar to the wingspan of a jet.
