Migraine Brain Imaging
“She’s like a crack whore without the dignity” ~ From The Uninvited
Hello migraine. It’s been one whole week since we last visited. Don’t you think that you are dropping in unannounced a bit too often? I mean, it’s not that you are totally unexpected, but you do seem to be visiting more often than of late, kind of like you did a few years ago. And your intensity . . . wow. You seem to have renewed vigor. Are you just laughing at the magnesium? I tend to think that you are.
I really hope that this isn’t a new trend on your part. I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see . . .

Hi Lita,
I am sorry that once again you are laid low by the dreaded migraine. Rest and look after yourself. I saw something on TV last night that may interest you. I small piece of equipment, similar to a pacemaker, that has a shunt which is inserted into the pectoral muscle and when it is activated it sends pulses through to the brain and IMMEDIATELY stops the headache, If it is turned off, the headache returns. They say the results can be amazing but it is beyond the reach of most people as the cost is quite prohibitive(the figure mentioned was thousands of dollars). Perhaps in the future, ordinary folk like us may be able to access them? Here’s hoping!
Big hugs and take care.
Maureen
Maureen,
I am writing this reply with my eyes squinted to keep out the light. So tired of this. Yes, of course the equipment sounds wonderful, but not within reach for people such as you and me. To be able to push a button and have the headache cease immediately on command–what a wonderful concept. I am afraid that I may have to go back on one of the preventive medications that mess with my memory. How to decide between pain and memory?
Big hugs back,
Lita
